I typically work in series, developing multiple paintings at the same time, to explore a theme from a variety of perspectives. Each series differs in its intent and vision, but unifying ideas include reverence for life and a desire to share my life’s journey with others.

Above are images from the Tribute Series, which chronicles the experience of losing my mother and wife, and then finding love again after loss.

All paintings were created in egg tempera, a medium which has a long history of reverence for the mystical. I spent months on each painting, carefully building a multilayered surface that reflected the complexity of my feelings as I grappled first with the loss of these significant individuals, and then as I found the courage to love again.
