Best of South Coast Artists: Juried Exhibition at the New Bedford Art Museum

Maren Brown’s acrylic painting Sacred Bones: Breathe (2024) has been selected for the prestigious Best of South Coast Artists exhibition at the New Bedford Art Museum. The exhibition runs from June 6 to August 24, 2025, showcasing a curated selection of exceptional regional artwork.

Juried by Carmen Hermo, the Lorraine and Alan Bressler Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, this exhibition highlights some of the best contemporary art from the South Coast region. Hermo's distinguished career includes serving as Associate Curator at the Brooklyn Museum’s Center for Feminist Art, Assistant Curator at the Guggenheim, and curatorial roles at both the Whitney Museum and MoMA. She has also curated independent exhibitions such as CURRENTS (A.I.R. Gallery, 2020) and New Voices (Print Center NY, 2023).
